Welcome to the Irish Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons homepage. The Association is the professional representative body for plastic and reconstructive surgeons in the Republic of Ireland and is based at the Royal College of Surgeons in Dublin. The Association is affiliated with the British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons at the Royal College of Surgeons in London. This site aims to provide an overview of the work of the Association, and to give authoritative advice on the management of conditions that fall within this specialty. We hope that you find it helpful. The Association is the only Irish body charged with the training of new doctors who seek to pursue a career in Plastic Surgery. All members are listed on the Specialist Register at the Irish Medical Council and the majority have dual public and private hospital affiliations. Members are involved in the teaching and training of junior doctors and engage in ongoing research and audit as part of their daily clinical duties. Meetings are held twice a year, with the next scheduled for 26-28th November 2009 at the Royal College of Surgeons in Dublin. Closing dates for abstracts is 15th October 2009.
